Last night I was at Wegman's in Dansville.. and I saw all the Christmas things being put up. If I'm not mistaken, it's still October right??? I find that just a bit excessive. I've noticed since this class started that I'm more sensitive to the corporatization of the holiday season, and it really bothers me to see. Is it possible that we have lost the true meaning of the season.. or has it been manipulated in such a manner that it is not what it once was? The holiday should be about non-material, intangible things... not lights and presents... right? Or perhaps the season has changed so much that presents are the point. I wonder what the holiday will be like by the time i have kids....
